The government of the Historical Territory of Araba-Alava is the Chartered Provincial Council, one of the main institutions in the Basque Autonomous Community. Its President is Ramiro González-Vicente and exercises a wide range of competences in areas such as tax and fiscal management, industrial and business innovation promotion, road and mobility infrastructure management, the provision of social welfare services or the sustainable environmental and urban development of the territory, among others.
