Jesús Jiménez-Barbero has been awarded the Humboldt Research Award for his outstanding contributions to bioorganic chemistry, biological chemistry, and biophysics. This prestigious award, presented by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, recognizes his significant impact in these fields. Jiménez-Barbero, who is the Scientific Director at CIC bioGUNE, was nominated by Professor Peter H. Seeberger. The award includes a €60,000 prize and the opportunity for research stays in Germany. His research focuses on the conformational analysis of carbohydrates and their applications in chemical biology and biomedicine.
