As of July 1st, BRTA is now part of the new EEN Basque II consortium, a network that supports Basque SMEs in their internationalisation, innovation, and technological growth. Through its 17 technology and research centres, BRTA brings strategic technical expertise to help more Basque companies access European R&D programmes and funding opportunities.

EEN Basque is the Basque node of the Enterprise Europe Network, the world's largest support network for SME competitiveness. This new phase, which runs until 2028, builds on the work done since 2008 and addresses emerging challenges such as sustainability, digital transformation, and access to new international markets.

The consortium is coordinated by SPRI and includes Basque Trade & Investment, Innobasque, and the Chambers of Commerce of Bilbao, Álava and Gipuzkoa. BEAZ, which has been a key contributor for over 15 years, has stepped down from the consortium. Its long-standing commitment and contribution have been warmly acknowledged.

During the last period (2022–2025), EEN Basque supported more than 380 SMEs, achieving 150 high-impact results: international cooperation agreements, innovation and sustainability improvements, access to funding, and support in digitalisation. The network also enabled participation in close to 100 international B2B events, training workshops, and information sessions on European programmes such as Horizon Europe.

Several recent success stories highlight the network’s impact:

  • Ludus took part in LUMINOUS, a European Extended Reality project.

  • Zunibal successfully submitted its TunaTech proposal through the TITAN programme.

  • AOTECH received support for prototype research and validation via cascade funding schemes.

With EEN Basque II, BRTA reinforces its commitment to innovation and knowledge transfer, providing a technical dimension that will help more Basque companies take the leap to European collaboration and competitiveness.
